How to Use Your Gauge
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the measurement area is free from dirt, thick rust, and flaking paint to allow for proper acoustic transmission.
- Apply Couplant: Place a small drop of the included ultrasonic couplant gel directly onto the surface of the material.
- Calibrate (If Required): Turn on the device and use the integrated 4mm calibration block to verify accuracy before your first use of the day.
- Measure: Press the transducer probe firmly against the couplant-covered surface. The material thickness will instantly display on the digital screen.
- Clean Up: Wipe the probe and the material surface clean of any remaining gel after measurements are complete.

Good solid unit. We use it as a glass thickness gauge for architectural salvage. You have to make sure the glass is perfectly clean first, but once you get the hang of it, it's incredibly fast.
